[He smiles a little more, especially when Nagisa talks about her illness.] I hope so. I can't imagine being stuck inside like this if you'd rather be outside and doing things.

Well, it's not too bad.. [Kind of.] It did happen a lot at home; I'm kind of used to it. And since I do have Kotomi-chan and Fuu-chan taking care of me and keeping me company here, I don't mind it so much. I am looking forward to being able to go out again though. [So she can see all her friends again!]

It's still a long time. So much of winter. [But he shakes his head.] A-- anyway. I hope you'll feel better soon.

I guess so... I'll make sure to do my best to get better soon though! Hopefully before the New Year, too.. [And with Leon's gift, maybe that'll actually work out! Maybe.]

I hope so. I think everyone here would want to see you outside more often. And back at school.

Ahh that's right... How has school been..? [She's probably so behind, sob.]

It's been all right. Same old, same old. [Says the boy genius.] I guess we can expect more students to trickle in soon enough, if there's another New Feather cycle next month.

Nothing new at all? [Not everyone can be a genius..!] Ohh, it's really soon, isn't it? I wonder if any people we know will end up coming..

I guess it's always possible... [He was lucky enough that Claude was around and that he'd been staying around for awhile.] I always have mixed feelings about it -- I'd want to see them, but I wouldn't want them trapped here, too.

[She nods.] That's understandable. I was really happy to have Okazaki here, but he didn't like being here at all, so... [Kinda glad that he's home now.] But.. There's always the chance that they may like it here, right..?

Yeah... [Claude had never complained about Luceti besides the obvious things (the drafts and the experiments), but that could have simply been because Claude ... didn't like to complain.] I guess I've started look at Luceti as a place I'll visit once in awhile, after leaving and coming back before.

Oooh... You've gone home before? [Huh. She never knew. Must be a weird feeling..]

It would be nice to be able to come back and visit. I'm not really sure how that would work though.. [Assuming she was sent back home and somehow had a way to willingly return. But she has no idea how she got here in the first place so.. not sure how that would work out.]

Yeah, I've left and come back twice before. This is my third time here, and the longest I've stayed. [He scratches one ear thoughtfully as he contemplates how to answer her other comments.]

If someone knew how it worked, I'm sure everything in this world would be different. No one would be forced to stay here and be put in danger... [It takes him a moment to silently amend to himself that the dead would, of course, be forced to remain.]

I see... That's a lot of times. [...] Do you like it here at all though..? [Kind of curious.]

And if that were the case, do you think there would be anymore experiments? If so, it would probably end up being really empty here during them, since not many people would want to stay for them.. [Or nobody. Aside from the dead who are forced to stay, which in that case, those times would probably be rather lonely.]

[Once upon a time, he would have hesitated about whether or not he liked Luceti. Especially during his first time, when he was 12.] Actually, I do. I've made friends here, and I like the village. But obviously it's hard to like this place much when you know you're a prisoner, and that you're being experimented on and thrown out into war zones.

[The scenario Nagisa paints gets tilt of the head from the boy as he thinks of the villagers.] We're told the experiments are done to help their research into getting us home. If we believe that, the experiments should stop.

[She smiles a bit at his answer, because yeah most of the people she's asked or heard from made it clear that they didn't like it here at all..] A-ahh... I'm glad that you do! At least, aside from the experiments and stuff. [Nobody likes those.]

..Eh? Really? [Because if that's the case, the experiments don't seem too bad after all.]

[He crosses his arms as he thinks about what they had learned. There was always the possibility that they weren't being told the truth, and they should be skeptical of the Malnosso, but it was all they had to go off of.]

I guess the idea is that this world naturally interferes with how things normally work, and randomly changes its effects per person. Even though we're all hit by an experiment at the same time, no one reacts the exact same way, right? Why that happens seems to be something that'd need to be studied. [He frowns.] It sure seems like a slow process, though.

Ooooh, I see! That does sound kind of slow though.. And confusing, too. [It.. really doesn't make much sense to her at all; it just seems weird. That pretty much goes for Luceti in general though -- abnormalities, experiments, and their strange and spontaneous results included.]

I hope they'll be able to figure it all out soon..

I hope so, too. It'd be nice to have more freedom than ... you know, only being able to leave the village to head off to battles. It's stressful for everyone. [Not that he has to tell her that; she'd been around long enough to have to deal with watching people march off for drafts.]

Mm, I agree... [She's seen enough of her friends go on drafts already. And one of them had even died..] So... We'll just have to hope for the best, right?

[While part of him wants to point out that just holding out on a hope wouldn't help much, he can understand the difficulty of dealing with war and the other horrors this world put them through.]

Yeah. It's important not to lose hope.

[For the most part, Nagisa's pretty much aware of that already, but she figures that it's better than nothing.]

Yep! So let's make sure not to, okay, Leon?

[He laughs a little at Nagisa's encouragement, but it helps to make his smile stronger.]

Yeah. We can definitely do that.

[And of course, seeing him smile makes her smile even more! Since he did look a little worried earlier..]

Mm! Let's! [..] But um... Thank you again for the gift, and for coming. It made me very happy!
