[Ever since Seto returned, Nagisa has been feeling rather down. ..Not because he's here, of course. She's happy he's here! What she isn't happy about, however, is what she had found out on that day though. Things that she just didn't remember from her childhood, which she's now aware of, and doesn't want to be. Or rather, she just wishes such a thing never happened, really. Like her getting sick as a child, which... isn't anything new for her, but the fact that she had nearly died once during one of those illnesses. And how because of that, her parents had to give up their jobs and dreams just so that they could take care of her.

...That's just not fair.

It's not fair that they had to give up on their goals just for her. It's... all her fault, really. And above all else, neither of her parents are here for her to talk to about this. She can't apologize or anything.]

[So after some thought, she decides to make a journal entry, asking something along those lines. She doesn't feel up to actually speaking aloud about this though. She'd just start crying, really. So instead, she writes it out.]

...Has anyone ever had to give up their own dreams for the sake of someone else?

[Moping around or not, food is kinda necessary in the house, so Nagisa can be found later around the plaza. First she'll go to the playground and sit around on the swings (though not.. actually swinging), and then she'll head on over to the grocery store and straight back home. She's a little out of it though, so she may just bump into someone. Oops.]

What do you mean?

There are some instances in which a person has to give up their dreams in order to preserve the life and sanity of other people. Do you think most people would really choose to give up on what they really desire?

I think some people would, at least. [She knows she would. And from the sound of the other responses she has gotten, other people would as well. But that's only a handful, so..] I'm not very sure about most people.. I hadn't really thought of a case in which the person doesn't have a choice on that.. [Though that certainly sounds even more unfair.]

[Yes, well some people are far more noble than Draco considers himself to be.]

There are people here that have never been given a real choice, Nagisa. People who instead were chosen. Just remember that.

I hadn't thought about that... In that case, I feel a little bad for them. [Even if it is for the good of others, it still sounds wrong to just thrust that responsibility upon someone without giving them a choice.] I'll make sure to keep that in mind though.

[She pauses for a moment before continuing to write.] ...Something like that happened to you, Draco?

See to it. I'd hate for you to go in to some discussion like this without a bit of logic.

[A pause of his own.] Whatever gave you that idea?

That would be a kind of bad, wouldn't it..? [She should be aware of these things!]

And before, you mentioned being in a situation where you didn't have a choice, so I assumed it may have been like that..

[This is why he's here, Nagisa. Just for reasons like this.] Of course it would be.

May have been, yeah. There's nothing I can do about it now, can I?

But are you sure there's nothing you can do about it? Maybe if you talked to the person about it, they would understand.. [Of course, she doesn't know the magnitude of the situation, so...]

What's caused you to ask such a question anyway?

Oh.. I'm really sorry about that then, Draco. [...She kind of feels bad now. She already thought it was unfair for people to be stuck in that kind of situation in the first place, but knowing that Draco is and that nothing can be done..]

[It's a strange situation mostly because he's not sure he really wants to ignore it, but he's also not sure he wants to elaborate.]

Oh. I remembered something that happened a while ago during which my parents were in a situation like that, and I felt bad, so... I wanted to hear what other people thought of it.

Like what, they gave up their dreams for you?

Yes. They gave up their careers, which were very important to them, so that they could take care of me..

...their entire careers? Couldn't they balance both?

Apparently not... They were both very time-consuming ones, I think.. My dad was an actor, and my mom a schoolteacher.

So what did they do instead after you were born?

Well, they didn't do it right after I was born. They just happened to have work on a day where I was really sick, so they left me home alone. When they returned, they found me collapsed outside, so.. that's what drove them to give up those careers, I think..

But um.. After then, they opened up a bakery.

[...huh. Would Narcissa and Lucius have done that for him? Probably.]

Drastic change. I suppose I can see the reasoning though.

It really is, isn't it..? I guess I could see their reasoning for it, but I still feel bad that they had to do something as big as that.

What makes you think they can't go back to it someday?

I guess they could eventually, but I really don't know if they would, since it's been so many years since then.
