[Ever since Seto returned, Nagisa has been feeling rather down. ..Not because he's here, of course. She's happy he's here! What she isn't happy about, however, is what she had found out on that day though. Things that she just didn't remember from her childhood, which she's now aware of, and doesn't want to be. Or rather, she just wishes such a thing never happened, really. Like her getting sick as a child, which... isn't anything new for her, but the fact that she had nearly died once during one of those illnesses. And how because of that, her parents had to give up their jobs and dreams just so that they could take care of her.

...That's just not fair.

It's not fair that they had to give up on their goals just for her. It's... all her fault, really. And above all else, neither of her parents are here for her to talk to about this. She can't apologize or anything.]

[So after some thought, she decides to make a journal entry, asking something along those lines. She doesn't feel up to actually speaking aloud about this though. She'd just start crying, really. So instead, she writes it out.]

...Has anyone ever had to give up their own dreams for the sake of someone else?

[Moping around or not, food is kinda necessary in the house, so Nagisa can be found later around the plaza. First she'll go to the playground and sit around on the swings (though not.. actually swinging), and then she'll head on over to the grocery store and straight back home. She's a little out of it though, so she may just bump into someone. Oops.]

Oh, really...? Um.. If you don't mind me asking, what happened..?

[She would feel a little awkward responding to a voice message with a written response, so have a voice one back, Naoki! Though she's speaking a little quietly.]

It's a long story, but... [He pauses, thoughtful, then continues,] A lot of bad things happened, where I'm from.

And I had to give up everything to fix things for everybody else. [...] Fix the world, that is.

[...The whole world?]

O-oh, I see... I'm sorry those things happened in your world.. I-it's very admirable that you were able to set out and fix it all..

[A faint chuckle.] Thank you.

You know... I wasn't happy, at first. [An understatement, oh yes, but he does that.] Giving everything up. But-- In the end, I didn't regret it.

[Yeah she doesn't catch that understatement at all.. but that doesn't change much.]

Mm, I could imagine that being a difficult choice to make... but if you didn't regret it in the end, then um... then that's okay, right..?

Yeah. [His tone becomes more cheerful,] In the end, it was more than worth it.

Oh... Um, in that case, I'm glad to hear that you think it was in the end.. [She just wonders if her parents feel the same way about this case..]

Yeah. [Pause...] Why're you asking, anyway, Nagisa? [And then, in case it's something she doesn't want to talk about, he gives her an easy out:] Curiosity?

O-oh, um... Not exactly.. I just remembered something recently where my parents did something like that for me.. They had to give up careers that were very important to them so that they could take care of me..

Ah... Really? [His tone seems to have softened.] Then... They sound like good parents.

They really are good parents, and I love them very much for all that they've done for me... B-but I still feel bad that they had to do something as big as that.

Hmm... I know, it's hard not to feel bad for something like that. [A pause, and he adds with warmth,] But I'm sure that in the end, they didn't regret it. Even more so because you're their daughter, yeah?

Y-yes, I guess that is true... If I had a daughter, I think I would feel the same way.. I almost wish that they were here too though so I could talk to them about all of this... [And just because she misses them in general. But at the same time, she wouldn't want for them to be stuck here too.]

Well-- I'm sure you'll see them again, huh? And I'm sure they won't mind talking about it... [A tiny laugh.] Though it's hard to wait sometimes, yeah?

Mm, I suppose so... And I'm sure they wouldn't mind talking about it, but... it feels a little selfish to want them to come here for that. And when we go home, we don't remember what has happened here, do we...? [So... she wouldn't know about this all.]

... [Naoki breathes a faint laugh, barely there.] I think everybody feels that way one time or another toward people they know. Wanting to come here. I think it's normal to be a little selfish when it comes to that, mm?

...I-I guess that's true... I still do feel bad though.. I've actually had a very important friend of mine come here, but he hated it a lot. He eventually left and then came back, but when he did, he was really sad again.. I don't think I could really wish for someone to come here because of that.. Especially if they could end up being completely unhappy.

[A hum of understanding.] Yeah, there is that... In that case, sticking with them is probably the best thing.

Mm... I guess so... So in the case that they do happen to come here, I'll just make sure to do that and try to make them as happy as possible while here..

Right. I'm sure that if it's you, you can do it for sure. [Of course, they're speaking in what ifs, but nevertheless Naoki wants to show his support.]

Y-yes, I will definitely do that, if that's the case. [..] But um.. Thank you very much for talking to me about all of this, Naoki.

Mm! No problem, Nagisa. I'm happy to. [Any way he can help at all, really.]
