6th Dango ( ' ' ) [Written/Action]

[Ever since Seto returned, Nagisa has been feeling rather down. ..Not because he's here, of course. She's happy he's here! What she isn't happy about, however, is what she had found out on that day though. Things that she just didn't remember from her childhood, which she's now aware of, and doesn't want to be. Or rather, she just wishes such a thing never happened, really. Like her getting sick as a child, which... isn't anything new for her, but the fact that she had nearly died once during one of those illnesses. And how because of that, her parents had to give up their jobs and dreams just so that they could take care of her.

...That's just not fair.

It's not fair that they had to give up on their goals just for her. It's... all her fault, really. And above all else, neither of her parents are here for her to talk to about this. She can't apologize or anything.]

[So after some thought, she decides to make a journal entry, asking something along those lines. She doesn't feel up to actually speaking aloud about this though. She'd just start crying, really. So instead, she writes it out.]

...Has anyone ever had to give up their own dreams for the sake of someone else?

[Moping around or not, food is kinda necessary in the house, so Nagisa can be found later around the plaza. First she'll go to the playground and sit around on the swings (though not.. actually swinging), and then she'll head on over to the grocery store and straight back home. She's a little out of it though, so she may just bump into someone. Oops.]

He'll just sneak over and give her a light push on the swing.]

[Yeah that.. was not something she was expecting! Which is why once she 1) feels a light push on her back and 2) starts swinging, she nearly jumps.]

Yo! [Shall give her a wave whenever she turns around.] Didn't think you were still into this kind of stuff.

[Oh hey Arata. She returns the wave, though a little slowly since she's trying to hold onto the swing while doing so.]

O-oh.. Hello, Arata! Um... It's kind of fun to swing on these, s-so... [Even though she wasn't actually doing so before he came over and pushed her..]

I guess there's no helping it... [He'll sit himself on the swing that's next to her.] I'll have to join in the fun myself.

[Welp. Nagisa doesn't know what to say to that, so she just gives Arata a smile--or at least, as best of a smile she can pull off right now--and then goes back to staring at the ground. Sorry Arata..]

[He doesn't swing at all, but his look is directed right at her.]

Hey... What's seriously bugging you?

[She swings for another moment and then pauses. When she speaks up, she continues to look down though. She feels bad for bothering Arata with this, but at the same time, she feels even worse just saying "nothing" which.. obviously isn't true. So..]

Um... A friend of mine reminded me of something that had happened when I was little...

[He recalls her mentioning that she's been pretty sick. Arata is wondering if that has something to do with it, but he can't be one hundred percent sure.]

When you were little, huh? ~~[NOTE TO SELF: OBTAIN LOLI NAGISA PICTURES]~~ .... What happened?

[~~SHE HAS THE PHOTO ALBUM NOW, MAN. HE COULD SEE THEM.~~ Nagisa nods, and again, it takes her a moment to respond. It's a little difficult to hold back tears, you know.]

Mhhm... Remember when I told you how I get sick really easily..?

[~~JUST AS PLANNED.~~ Oh, damn it... This is one of the moments where he hates it when he's right.]

... Yeah, I remember that. W... What's going on? [Now he's feeling horribly worried. DON'T TELL HIM THAT SHE'S DYING SOON...]

[Not that, Arata...! More like she almost did, way back when.]

Mm... well... I got really sick many years ago.. M-my parents had to go to work during one of those days, so they left me at home for a while.. and when they came back, they found me outside. [Collapsed and near-death, really.] A-and they felt really bad about it, s-so... they left their jobs, which were really important to them..

[Good news is that she isn't dying! That calms him down a bit. Bad news... That's a pretty depressing backstory. He's not really sure what to say, so he stays quiet for a bit.]

Is that... right? [Boy, he remembers the times when he had to skip school when his cousin was sick.] Sorry that you had to go through that. Did you think that your parents made the right choice by doing that?

[She nods to the first part, and then solemnly shakes her head to the last.]

..I-I don't think so... They gave up their dreams just for me, s-so... [It's her fault. Completely her fault.]

[He'll be getting up from the swing now and walks up to her.]

You're wrong. They did exactly what any sane parents would've done. If they lose a job, that's no big deal. But if they lost you, then that's something that can't take back.

[Didn't Hijiri sacrfice herself just to make sure he would survive that incident? He still remembers that all too clearly. When he thinks about it, he would've done the exact same thing if he were in her position.]

[... OH GOD IS HE REALLY GOING TO DO THIS.

Why is he hesitating now!? He could do it to any other girl, so he shouldn't be freezing up. He's just said something cool, so the flag has been raised!

Okay, calm down. Calm down. Just do it.]

[OKAY, HE'S COOL AGAIN. Just have a hug there, Nagisa.]

So... Don't beat yourself up over something like that. You're their greatest treasure, so take pride in that. You've got really great parents.

[When she notices Arata getting up, Nagisa looks up at him. ...Slightly, anyway.]

...Do you think so..?

[She's sure it's true, but... there's still the fact that they wouldn't have had to do that if it weren't for her. Nagisa doesn't believe she's worth it at all, but...]

[...Suddenly hugged! Which makes Nagisa taken aback; she was not expecting that at all.

She doesn't say anything though. Instead... welp. Here come the waterworks.]

[He'll just continue to hug her tightly.

Don't worry, he'll be here allll daaaaay. He's not going anywhere.]

[She appreciates it, really.

Just... give her a bit to let it out.]

...I-I'm sorry...

[He's not sure if she's apoligizing to him or her parents or both, but this needs to be said.]

... I'm doing this because I want to.

[It was for both, but mostly him. She just feels bad about all of this, especially since she feels like she may be being a crybaby right now or something. But hearing Arata's words is reassuring.]

O-oh... [...] ..t-thank you then...

Besides... I think it's healthy for girls to cry. If someone keep all of that emotion balled up inside, it wouldn't be good at all.

[Don't mind as he pulls away from her a bit annnd shall wipe away a tear with her finger to sling it away.] After all, I have to be around to wipe your tears away.

I-I guess so... [Nagisa still feels at least a little bad though.

But she smiles, albeit a little weakly, and her face turns just slightly red at that!] Thank you very much, Arata...
